Be Not Deceived and Learn Methods of Discernment to determine if bad or not:

This is what I use to measure as a method for discernment to not be deceived by others:

• Who was the founder of this modality?
• What was his/her spirituality?
• What culture did it come out of?
• What were their beliefs?
• Who is their God or gods?
• What is the message or true meaning?

Another way to learn methods of discernment is to study your word, read it and memorize the scripture.  Also, if you ever get a check in your spirit, don’t ignore it.  Don’t trust everything your pastor does.  If you don’t learn methods of discernment you will end up being deceived and opening the door to a demonic world that can hurt you.

I know that Jesus warned us about deception and being deceived through God’s Word.  Listed below are discernment scriptures:

whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap

Romans 16:18 “For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”   1 Corinthians 15:33 “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

heart deceived – learn methods of discernment

James 1:26 “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.”

1 John 3:7 “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.”

2 John 1:7 “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”
