A Spirit of Guilt Leads to Addiction
Overcoming Guilt
Did you know if you’ve been programmed with guilt to believe a lie you are responsible for other people’s happiness which can bring stress leading to addictions to sweets and other types of addictions to deal with the stress which is a false pathway to peace and not God’s way to deal with peace?
A spirit of guilt is a demonic spirit that does not come from God. It is a tormenting spirit and it is a spirit that makes you feel unclean. Guilt is one of the most destructive force tot he soul, whether it be guilt toward the Lord or toward other persons. It carries a feeling “I have failed God,”. Many times guilt feels like a conviction but guilt never comes from God. Guilt also connects with a spirit of shame.
Living with extreme spirit of guilt can break down the immune system producing disease in your body. Or, it can take you to addictions to food as comfort to deal with a spirit of guilt. Overcome guilt through Jesus Christ when you understand a Guilt is a Spirit and you have the power to cast it down. 2 Corin. 10:4-5.
Not only does guilt lead to addiction but the spiritual root issues is a need for love. Many times children grow up in homes that are conditional and full of guilt. The child grows up with a lot of self condemnation and drivenness to perfection to find love and acceptance.
