Do you know where does temptation come from? Could it be Satan that temps people to sin? Didn’t God give us victory to overcome sin?

Old Testament

Jeremiah  17:10 “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every  man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”

We see here that Jesus was tempted by the Devil in the wilderness.

1 Peter 5:8-11 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

The devil is the original source of temptation in our world. From the time he first tempted Adam and Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit, he has been working to draw men into sin.    Temptation is common to mankind.

That is why it is so important to be filled with the Holy Spirit to have power to resist the devil when he tempts you.

Temptation is nothing but a suggestion to sin, a prompting to do something wrong. It comes to us as a thought in our mind. Temptation can come to us from what we see, hear, feel, or even as a suggestion straight from the devil, who can put such thoughts into our mind. Many things can provoke – tempt – us to sin.

The devil and the demons project thoughts into your mind tempting the flesh and your personal desires.  We all have familiar spirits that know us and know our weaknesses.  The best attack is against habits and demons attempt to temp you to ge

Temptation is not sin until lust is birthed and then to action.
